ESTATE PLANNING

slide42.jpg

In the past, most people transferred their assets after death by a Last Will and Testament.  Recently, the use of Revocable Living Trusts has exploded in popularity as many people have discovered certain advantages provided by Revocable Living Trusts.  A Trust allows assets to be transferred to beneficiaries without the necessity of probate.

During your life, you may need a Power of Attorney.  A Power of Attorney is a document that gives some, or all, of your legal rights to another.  A Financial Power of Attorney that becomes effective upon your incapacity may provide your spouse, children, or trusted advisor with the authority to act on your behalf without the necessity of a court appointed guardian.

A Health Care Power of Attorney allows the person you appoint to carry out your decisions with regard to health care treatment if you become incapacitated.

A complete estate plan addresses a Will, a Trust, and Powers of Attorney for both health care and financial matters.

The Law Office of Richard C. Blower provides Wills and/or Trusts on a flat fee basis.
